Why should I care?
Why should you care?
Surely there will be something which you can comfortably say to have fully mastered, a task in which you excel in. Everybody has something they are great at, not everybody will yet know what it is.
Let us presume you found your own mastered art. In order for you to excel, you have invested a lot of time and energy to reach your current level. You can be proud of your achievement.
So what will happen when you see someone else merely showing off and clearly making false statements about the very topic you worked so hard on, have developed passion and care so much about?
Why should you care? Why should it affect you in any way?
„It is not important“ you might say to yourself, overhearing the false statements made. „It is not my duty to correct such false statements on every presented occasion”, you may think.
But are these the real reasons? Does such argumentation suffice? You are by no means a coward avoiding confrontation, you are simply tired, tired of these misinformed individuals who discredit the reputation of your esteemed art. An art you worked so hard to master. An art which plays a substantial role in your life.
But again, WHY should you care?
„The others will seek guidance with someone knowledgeable and not believe everything claimed by a random individual because they can differentiate between reproducers and authentic masters“ you persuade yourself.
But the anger does not go away. „So meditate over it, you must not think about this anymore“ you say to yourself.
And slowly the topic eats you up, but there might be a solution for you.
WAKE UP, TURN AROUND!
The real reason you are angry is because these misinformed individuals are simply not real ambassadors of your art. You are not angry at those people, you are angry about what they represent: a false interpretation and bad copy of your authentic art. You are angry that they may influence others and further increase the amount of misinformed individuals in regards to your beloved art.
Turning around means to look at the newcomers, who might admire these misinformed individuals and believe them to be protagonists. To some these may even be worshipped to be gods. However, bear in mind that there exists a difference between believed to be gods, creating their own rules, and those relying on authenticity and hard work to achieve their results. Hard work based on authenticity and real history will result in an everlasting partnership, becoming an equal. Amongst to be believed gods, the results will be very different, and there can only ever be one god amongst worshippers.
These thoughts may provide you with enough reasons to step into the metaphoric ring, and to protect your esteemed art. Protecting newcomers from being misled and following a deteriorating path with no future should provide you with all the necessary motivation.
You do not believe it to be true that a newcomer will be able to distinguish and understand the difference between authentic art and a simple copy of it. After all, they are a newcomer, entrusting someone else with their fate, yet at the beginning of their journey.
The main reason why newcomers start a new journey is not known to you, nor is it often known to the newcomers themselves.
Ask yourself: Did you start your journey, quite some time ago, with the distinguished knowledge of mastering an art? Or was your motivation towards the beginning solely that of improving yourself?
The mastered and henceforth practiced art is a result and not a beginning. Art needs time, effort and sacrifice.
So make a stand for your art in offering an alternative to newcomers and stop focusing on those misinformed individuals discrediting your art and merely wasting your time and energy. This is time and energy that you can use to make a difference for those newcomers that cannot yet tell the difference between authenticity and one of many reproductions.
This is the reason why you should care.
